I am sure that you have seen vampire films such as Blade and John Carpenter's
Vampires. This is how the film industry and the media portray us, but this is
not what true vampirism is. We are not immortal and do not infect others with
our blood to make a vampire. Garlic and crosses do not affect a true vampire and
we live a normal life span reflective of any human. One of our purposes is to
dispel these common misconceptions that the public has about us. So what make us
different from other humans? I will attempt to describe those differences.

Now many true vampires are very sensory sensitive. Many are sensitive to
sunlight and I myself must wear sunglasses to see enough in this bright light,
but like anyone I and others can easily be in sunlight without any problems. You
must understand that what is said in the film industry is incorrect. They
describe a mythical immortal creature who cannot exist in the sunlight. This is
the image that the public romantisizes. What I am about to tell you is what has
been documented in medical science about vampirism, not about what has been on
the movie screen.

Vampirism can be defined as the ability and need for certain energy resources
not associated with most people. As for blood vampirism, there are very few who
truely need this energy source, but the ones who do need, only need a little of
it for their health, about a couple ounces every few days to a week. One is not
going to die without this blood need, but it has been documented that such a
need exists for the health of the blood vampire. Most vampirism is psychic and
empathic vampirism. This simply means that these vampires seek out the energy
present in the emotions and mental energy of other people. Vampires are very
sensitive to this energy and can readily sense and feel it, thereby consuming
this source. This has also been documented by the social and psychological
sciences. An empath can readily sense and become the emotion of others. With
that comes a consumption of energy for the health of the vampire. As I have said
vampirism is about ability to sense and consume thi!
s energy and the need for it for health. There is also what I would call
elemental vampirism whereby the vampire can benefit from the energies of the
earth such as that from storms and other energies of the earth. A vampire is
very sensitive to this energy and can well benefit from it for an energy source.

Now You can choose to belive or not to belive in what I have tried
in brief to explain to you about what the Vampire Church believes about
vampirism. The fact is, much of what I have said here can be backed up by
documented medical science. I only suggest you approach what I have attempted to
tell you in short with an opne mind. I can understand the propensity to
disbelieve, and I find many people do not believe. That is their right, but I
can tell you that the numbers here defy the odds that all these people are wrong
about their needs here like I have described. You are right that there is no
sure individual test but there are masses of evidence brought forth by
individual cases to support that vampirism as I have defined it does exist.

I do not go out and canvus for members. Everyone who is a member of the Vampire
Church has come on their own and gone through an extensive interview. I question
everyone extensively and reject many more than I accept. The Vampire Church is
simply an organization where members can share and learn about their experience
with the types of vampirism I have described here. We know that many will not
believe us and I am use to redicule. I have done many inteviews with magazines
and the media to help dispel that vampirism is not what you watch in the films
and TV shows many of us have seen. It is a life and not a choice. Vampirism is a
part of someone when he/she come into this life. No vampires are "made" or
"turned" or "embraced". I only expect you to view what I have said objectively,
then decide. If you choose to disbelieve, than that is your choice and I respect
that. I only suggest that you look at what is written and documented before you
